"All operators in the European Union need to adhere to the European Data Retention
Directive which states that telcos and ISPs should store all electronic communications,
including location data on calls, SMS and Internet use calls, for a total of 24 months.
Operators are required to allow authorized LEA’s (Law Enforcemenet Agencies), intelligence agencies and detectives access the retained or intercepted information."
